Weekend feasting

Last weekend, I was dragged out of the home to go to town with the boyf. I was really tired already as it was already 6pm by the time he was done with his tuition. But the boyfriend was really insistent that he wanted to bring me out for a date (and also to buy his Marcella shirt at Cathay). I decided to be a nice girlfriend and agreed to go on the date with him :)

The date started out bad because I was grouchy that I had to go out at 6pm to town (we don't live very near town) and I couldn't decide on what to eat for dinner.  But the boyf said that it was not the food that mattered but the companion, and that sort of make me cheer up a bit.

We ( I mean I.) finally decided to dine at Jones the Grocer at Ion since there were no queues.

I ordered the Fish of the day which was barramundi and he ordered some steak which was really really worth it, because the steak came with another whole chunk of meat which the boyf couldn't figure out what it was. It was either mutton or pork. The boyf totally enjoyed his steak+unknown meat while I didn't enjoy mine cos the fishy smell was just too strong.

After dinner, we walked around town, went to PS to find his shirts but he didn't like the shirts that were off the shelves, and was kinda disappointed.

After walking around sometime, the boyf decided to be weird again and he requested to eat desserts. We walked around PS some more to find the desserts that he wanted to eat and we eventually settled for Modern Mexican at PS.

I told the boyfr, if we hadn't discuss about when we were getting married, I would have thought that he was going to propose to me on that night because he was acting all weird the entire night.
First, he was so insistent on going down town, which isn't his normal self. Second, he wanted to eat desserts after dinner, which again wasn't his normal self. Third, he didn't want to go back early so we had to walk around PS some more, which is still not his normal self. HAHA.

But anyways, back to Modern Mexican, by the time we settled on the venue for our desserts, I was a little bit hungry and thus decided to order the grilled chicken quesadillas, while the boyf ordered the brownie and ice-cream. The brownie and ice-cream was so-so but the grilled chicken quesadillas was quite nice, tasted like pizza.

And there, we ended the night off with a couple-pic of us taken at the restaurant.

Nails of the Week

Still trying to perfect the heart but it is really difficult to draw symmetrical heart-shape using free hands.

Nails of the week

This was my Nail-of-the-week last week. This set of manicure was requested by the boyf and since I have not
done a manicure myself for the longest time, I decided to challenge myself.

The outcome was not fantastic but I think it was really pleasant to look at. Recieved many compliments for this set of manicure.

Cafes & Restaurants that I want to go to!

1. Kombi Rocks

What drew my attention to this cafe was actually because there were an increasing number of couples renting their Kombi vans from the owners to have their wedding photoshoots taken! And I thought it was a really interesting and novel idea. (psst. the rental does not come cheap)

Kombi Rocks serves traditional Chinese food likes noodles and rice, and they even have simple Cze Char dishes.

Location: 66 Yio Chu Kang Road
Tel: 9008 6918

2. Bliss House

Bliss house is a theme restaurant located at Clarke Quay. I really want to go there because the interior is so beautiful (from pictures that I have seen online)!! It is like walking into your own fairytale, coupled with carriages and flowers etc. oh man I can't wait to visit this restaurant!

Location: 6 Eu Tong Seng Street
#03-21A The Central
Tel: 6225 5532

3. The Cajun King

Do I even have to tell you want I want to go to this restaurant. SEAFOOD! CRABS! omg omg omg.

Location: 15-1, Jalan Riang

4. Strangers Reunion

I love cafes/restaurants with unique names. And this definitely has got to be a restaurant with an interesting name. A place where strangers reunite. From reviews, Strangers Reunion is quite famous for their coffees, but otherwise they do serve pretty decent food like sandwiches, pizzas, all-day-breakfast.

5. Wimbly Lu

Chocolate chocolate chocolate and deserts deserts deserts!

Location: 15-2, Jalan Riang Singapore 358987

Bullshit!

When a relationship has come to its end, somehow the either parties would lack the courage to initiate breakup and thus they would come up with the lamest, dumbest, most-selfish, brainless breakup lines.

And mine was equally bullshit. And I can't believe that I had actually believed the reason my ex gave me when he initiated a breakup. Worst, I had even blamed myself for it.

His reason for breaking up was because I didn't put in effort to visit his grandparents and parents when he was overseas for training. -_-

I should have given the ex two tight slaps when he said that to me. If he had visited mine when I was overseas, I would have been less angered. But how many times did he visit my parents and grandparents when I was overseas, hmmm... NONE.

Please, if you are considering a break up with your partner, please be honest about the reason for the breakup. Or if you think you can't do the above, at least come up with a more convincing excuse.

Hong Kong Travelogue : Day 5

So here's the final day of my June Hong Kong trip and as I am writing this post, I am missing the days that I spent in Hong Kong, not having to worry about anything at all.

So this was my #ootd of my last day in Hong Kong.
Wearing my dungaree from Ms Selfridge and my Geek tee from random shop at Far East Plaza.

I had absolutely great hair day!

We decided to have the famous Tim Ho Wan for brunch.
It is located at the IFC mall. (Alight at Central MTR station).

In my honest opinion, I felt that it was not as good as I thought it should be and totally not worth queueing up for. I only enjoyed the pork bun which was really quite tasty (despite being someone who doesnt really like pork).

After lunch, we went to search for the famous Pierre Herme macarons and boy, it was the best macarons I've ever tried! I hope they will eventually come to Singapore too.

And finally it was time to bid this country goodbye! :(
Hopefully I can have the opportunity to visit this country again to buy more cheap masks and makeup!

Hong Kong Travelogue - Day 3 & 4

Day 3

We started our morning meeting the boyf's sister and her husband for breakfast. Both of them have been working in Hongkong for the past 2 years and they definitely know where to bring us for a good breakfast!

Breakfast was at a restaurant at Causeway Bay and they serve really good dim sum. It was a pity that they didn't serve my "luisah baos" (custard buns) but the very delicious egg tarts made up for it. I think I ate ate least 4-5 egg tarts. My Chinese is pretty bad so I can't really read the Chinese name of the restaurant so I can't google for the address!

After breakfast, we shopped around that area for a while but it was nothing interesting as they were mostly big malls that sell expensive/branded stuff. No intention to splurge on branded so we left the place after shopping at Times Square.

Egglets! Please eat this when you're in Hong Kong because the ones in Hong Kong are much much better than those selling in Singapore. The insides of the egglets were soft and chewy while those in Sg are hollow and hard.

And for dinner, we had 小肥羊 steamboat which my colleague recommended. We went to the branch near Langham Place. I felt that it was overrated but probably because I'm a picky eater and there wasn't much variety for me to choose from.

After dinner, it was back to my favorite shopping centre Mongkok shopping centre (旺角中心) for more shopping.

& my purchases for the third day! ( heehee, that's my second pair of Vans).

& Vivian's splurge.

4th day.

#selfie when I experimented with centre parting. Think I look pretty decent in it but the boyf didn't like it. He said I looked like a nerd.

And our first meal at a traditional 茶餐厅 near our hotel.

Even the cashier is so #oldskool.

Wonderful shots by me but Vivian thinks they are ugly. She probably doesn't know how to appreciate artistic shots.

And our dinner at this amazing cafe in Mongkok. They serve delicious delicious delicious charsiew rice.

Was too tired that night and hence too lazy to take a picture of my purchases. But this was my favorite-est buy that night, and it was also the most expensive buy!
